CORTINA D’AMPEZZO

2021 WORLD SKI CAPITAL


Starts today the 2021 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships, that will be held in Cortina d’Ampezzo from 7th to 21st February 2021!

During the two weeks of competitions, the best ski event of the year will bring to the Dolomites more than 600 athletes from 70 nations competing to win the 13 world titles at stake on 5 world-class slopes.

More than 500 million people from all over the world will watch the competitions with live TV coverage! On the other hand, the digital community will follow and interact with the events thanks to the new Media as virtual grandstands, virtual media centers, streaming and exclusive content in the Cortina 2021 application.

The championship will offer an idea of ​​what to expect at the 2026 Winter Olympics to be held in Milan and Cortina and surely an opportunity for the public to fall in love with the majestic landscapes of the Dolomites National Park.

The Dolomites constitute the mountain chain of the Eastern Alps and are part of the 55 Italian sites included by UNESCO in the World Heritage List.

The Unesco award-winning area includes three regions (Trentino Alto Adige, Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia and five provinces (Trento, Bolzano, Belluno, Pordenone and Udine) with eighteen peaks that rise above 3,000 meters.
