Itineraries

Day 1

ROME – CASSINO – CASTEL DI SANGRO - CAPRACOTTA

Departure from a hotel in the centre of Rome. Entrance to the most important benedectine monastery in the world, the Abbey of Montecassino. Visit of the mountain village at the four regional borders - Abruzzo, Molise, Lazio and Campania: Castel di Sangro. Accommodation in a mountain hotel in the area of Capracotta (Hotel Monte Campo*** or similar).

Day 2

CAPRACOTTA – FORNELLI – FROSOLONE - ISERNIA

Breakfast at the hotel. Unique experience: visiting a village founded inside a walled castle: Fornelli. Arrival to Frosolone, one of the most beautiful village of Italy. Visit of the old town and at a knives workshop. Visit of Isernia with entry at the National Museum of the Paleolithic. Accommodation at Grand Hotel Europa**** or similar.

Day 3

ISERNIA – ORATINO - CAMPOBASSO – SEPINO - ISERNIA

Breakfast at the hotel. Visit of Oratino, the village of stone. Visit of Campobasso, capital of the region and traditional lunch in a local restaurant. Visit of Sepino, the local Pompeii with entry at the archaeological area. Return to Isernia.

Day 4

ISERNIA – TERMOLI – SAN SALVO - ROME

Breakfast at the hotel. Visit of Termoli, main seaside centre of Molise. Visit of the old town of San Salvo, among Roman ruins, Romanesque churches and Barroque palaces. Return to Rome.

RATES INCLUDE:

  • 1 overnight with breakfast in a mountain hotel in Capracotta;

  • 2 overnights with breakfast in a hotel in the centre of Isernia;

  • Guided tour of the Abbey of Montecassino with entry;
