Itineraries

Day 1

MILAN – PESCHIERA – PORDENONE – SACILE

Departure from the hotel in Milan. Arrival to the largest Italian lakes, Garda; visit of the old town of the walled city of Peschiera; Visit of the old town of Pordenone, an old Roman city. Wine tasting and visit of the cellar and the vineyards of the farm Le Favole, same property of the hotel. Accommodation in a farm holiday with pool (like Agriturismo Le Favole or similar);

Day 2

SACILE – VAJONT - SPILIMBERGO – SAN DANIELE – SACILE

Breakfast at the hotel. Visit of the Dam of Vajont, in the Friuli Dolomites, scenary of the desaster of 1963; Lunch at the castle of Spilimbergo (in August medieval fest); Visit of a producer of San Daniele ham with tasting; Return to Sacile.

Day 3

SACILE – LIGNANO – AQUILEIA – REDIPUGLIA – DUINO

Breakfast at the hotel. Excursion to Lignano Sabbiadoro, main sea area of the region; Entry to the Roman arqueological park of Aquileiaò. Visit of the biggest war cemetery of Italy, Redipuglia. Accommodation in a restored house in the countryside of Duino (Villa Borgo Duino or similar).

Day 4

DUINO – TRIESTE – OPICINA – GORIZIA (NOVA GORICA) - DUINO

Breakfast at the hotel. Visit of the old town Trieste, following the works of the writers Saba, Svevo and Joyce. Up on a tram to the district of Opicina (not working in 2020, it should reopen in 2021). Visit of Gorizia (Italy) and Nova Goriza (Slovenia), the divided town (both together will be the European town of culture in 2025). Return to Duino.

Day 5

DUINO – CIVIDALE – UDINE – CITTADELLA - MILAN

Breakfast at the hotel. Visit of Cividale, the village of the devil. Visit of Udine, second biggest town of the region. Return to Milan with a stop on the way to admire the walled village of Cittadella. Once in Milan end of services.

RATES INCLUDE:

  • 2 overnights with breakfast in a farm hoilday house with swimming pool;

  • 2 overnights with breakfast in an antique farm hoilday house perfectly restaured;

  • Guided tour of the Archeological Park of Aquileia with ticket admission;

  • Guided tour of the city of Trieste;

  • Visita of a cellar with wine tasting;

  • Lunch experience at the Castle of Spilimbergo with drinks included;

  • Visit of a producer of San Daniele ham with final tasting;

  • Entrance at the war cemetery of Redipuglia;

  • Onbaord a trem to Opicina, in Trieste (once in 2021 the service is goiging to work again);

  • Itinerary as above

  • Bus/ Van at disposal for the mentioned itinerary
